Enjoy the company of friends old and new, and celebrate Preservation Houston’s work over the past year, during our 2019 Membership Reception and Meeting on Tuesday evening, June 11, at The Parador, 2021 Binz in the Museum District.
The event will begin with a wine and hors d’oeuvre reception at 6 p.m. in the restored 1928 building, a 2001 Good Brick Award winner. A brief membership meeting will begin at 7 p.m., during which you will learn about the preservation work your membership supports, honor outgoing board members and meet incoming PH President Kate McCormick.
The evening's program will follow: a conversation between architectural historians Stephen Fox of the Anchorage Foundation of Texas and Kathryn Holliday of the University of Texas at Arlington about how architecture writing in Texas has helped frame the way we look at buildings and preservation. Holliday's new collection of essays by architecture critic David Dillon, The Open-Ended City: David Dillon on Texas Architecture, will be available for purchase and signing at the meeting.
