2024 Member Reception and Meeting

  • Pennzoil Place 711 Louisiana Street Houston, TX, 77002 United States (map)

Preservation Houston members are invited to celebrate the organization’s work in the past year, welcome new leaders and mingle with friends during the 2024 Member Reception and Meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.

The evening will begin with a reception on the 29th floor of the North Tower of Pennzoil Place, Philip Johnson and John Burgee’s landmark skyscraper downtown. After a reception featuring drinks, hors d’oeuvres and fantastic skyline views, we’ll hold a brief membership meeting at 7 p.m. to recap the valuable education and advocacy work your membership supports. The evening will conclude with a program by Kathryn O’Rourke and Ben Koush, the author and photographer behind the new book Home, Heat, Money, God: Texas and Modern Architecture, a look at mid-20th century architecture in the Lone Star State.

O’Rourke and Koush’s book will be available for sale and signing at the event through our friends at Brazos Bookstore. You may pre-order your copy online for $45; please order by June 10 for pickup at the event or at Brazos.

Admission to the Member Reception and Meeting is free and open to all Preservation Houston and Pier & Beam members and their guests. (Not a member? Has your membership lapsed? It’s easy to join or renew online!)

RSVP online by Friday, June 14.
