May is Preservation Month, a chance to celebrate the places that give Houston its unique character and the people who created them. To mark this year's Preservation Month, and to help build a strong base of support for Preservation Houston's future work, we're asking every PH member to invite a friend (or friends!) to join the organization by the end of the month.

The Lamar-River Oaks Community Center, Preservation Houston’s home since 2012, has remained surprisingly intact since architect Raymond H. Brogniez designed the building in the late 1940s. However, some original elements have been lost, including interior signage that features an Art Deco-inspired typeface.
