May is Preservation Month, a chance to celebrate the places that give Houston its unique character and the people who created them. To mark this year's Preservation Month, and to help build a strong base of support for Preservation Houston's future work, we're asking every PH member to invite a friend (or friends!) to join the organization by the end of the month.
Here's what to do: Invite a friend with an interest in Houston history and architecture to become a PH member online, or have them call us at (713) 510-3990 to join by phone. Make sure they provide your name as their referral when they join (there's a space for it online, or they can tell us when they call). At the end of the month, the PH member with the most referrals will win a free private Architecture Walk for up to 10 people — and all members, new and existing, will have the opportunity to join us atop Pennzoil Place for our 2024 Member Reception and Meeting on June 18.
PH membership is more than just a way to support our valuable neighborhood-focused education and advocacy work. Our members receive discounts on walking tours; free admission to programs including the History in Print author series and virtual talks; a subscription to Keynote, our e-mail newsletter; and invitations to special events including our annual Holiday Party, open houses and site visits throughout the year.
Welcoming friends, relatives, neighbors or co-workers to Preservation Houston is a great way to share your passion for Houston's history. Each new member enriches the experience for all members and shows that there's enthusiastic support for preserving the places that matter to Houstonians. We're excited to meet your friends this month!
